The Hood River Golf Club is on the southwest side of town bordered by farmland and forests.

This is an interesting and entertaing golf course especially the back nine with confining, fairways, hilly lies, and narrow approaches to the small greens. It's a rugged course to walk with significant elevation change on the backside, but rewarded by scenic views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams throughout the round. It's short but challenging at 6,109 yards from the back tees, 70.7/135, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees. The original front nine has been around since the 1920s originally designed by Chandler Eagan with an additional nine and further design work by George Junor.
