Houston Oaks is located 15 minutes northeast of downtown Lexington on Route 27/68 in Paris partially within a residential development.

The golf course is a links/parkland style design over broad, rolling fairways bordered by scattered trees. There's numerous water hazards including the Licking River in play on the majority of the holes and sand bunkers defending the occasional fairway and the generous greens. From the tips it plays to 6,842 yards, 73.8/137, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by Jack Ridge.
