Hughes Creek is located eight miles west of Geneva in Kane County on the south side of Elburn partially within a residential development.

The golf course is a well landscaped, parkland layout traversing rolling hills and wetlands and ponds with sand bunkers defending most of the greens and the occasional fairway. It can play to 6,506 yards, 71.6/127, course/slope ratings from the back tees with two shorter tees, designed by Gordon Cunningham.
