Iron Horse is located about 30 minutes southwest of Omaha off I-80 at Exit 426 in Ashland.

The course clambers around a former rock quarry now a lake and partially through a residential community. There's a moderate amount of elevation change over the rolling and sloping fairways along wetlands, ponds, and the lake with fingered sand bunkers defending the greens and the occasional fairway landing zones. From the tips, it's 6,500 yards, 71.4/128, course/slope ratings with four shorter tee boxes, designed by Gene Bates.
