The Iron Horse GC is on the northeast side of Fort Worth off I-820 at Denton Highway to the east within a residential development.

The layout rolls over undulating terrain along broad oak, mesquite, and cottonwood tree corridors. There's numerous slight doglegs, a generous amount of sand bunkers, and the pesky Big Fossil creek and another stream in play on 17 holes. It can play to 6,679 yards, 72.6/127, course/slope ratings off the back tees with three shorter tees, designed by Dick Phelps.
