The General at the Joe Wheeler Park is in Northwest Alabama two miles west of Rogersville on the banks of the Tennessee River.

The golf course is a fair and forgiving, parkland layout over broad, rolling fairways with completely natural corridors. There's numerous doglegs, little in the way of sand traps, one water hazard, and slightly elevated greens. The course was designed by Earl Stone in the early 1970s, and can play to 7,251 yards from the tips, it 6,565 yards from the White tees, 70.4/114, course/slope ratings.
