The Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course is just west of the Gilespie County Airport in Fredericksburg on the southwest side of town off TX 16.

The course is a parkland layout over and along Live Oak Creek and is scenic without homes or development in play, although the adjoining airport does provide the occasional distraction. The front nine is more entertaining and challenging with elevation changes, forced carries, risk/reward options, and a drill in course management while the backside is more straightforward. From the back tees is 6,686 yards, par 72, 72.1/127, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees with a 2012 redesign by Jeff Brauer.
