The Lake Carroll Golf Course is an hour due west of Rockford in Lanark partially through a sparsely, developed residential community.

The golf course traverses a large tract of rolling terrain on the east side of Lake Carroll. The fairways move through the trees with several ponds and a stream impacting play, numerous doglegs, and sand bunkers generally greenside and at the occasional landing area off the tee. There's three sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,477 yards, 71.2/126, course/slope ratings with design work by Lohmann Design.
