Kezar Lake Golf Club is an hour and a half north of Portland up Rt 304 in the foothills of the White Mountains.
The golf course lumbers through the White Mountain woods with scenic views throughout, especially from the front porch of the classic New England style clubhouse complete with rocking chairs enjoying a post round beverage. The fairways are narrow, hilly, and sloping with ponds and streams, and if you need fortification, there's Ebenezer’s Pub right next to the 3rd green with 35 beers on tap. The course plays to 6,010 yards at the tips, 67.4/119, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees. The golf course is a hidden gem with the original 400 yard shorter, nine holes designed by Donald Ross in the 1920s and the back nine by the course superintendent Brian Merrill in the mid-1990s.
