Lane Tree is located just north of Goldsboro off I-795 at exit 22 to the west on the north side of the Little River within a small residential community.

The layout is an interesting design with a mix of open and tree lined fairways over a slight change in elevation. There's five holes along the River in addition to numerous lakes, ponds, and wetlands in play as well as fingered sand bunkers defending the greens. It was designed by John LaFoy and from the back tees can play to 7,016 yards, 73.3/134, course/slope ratings with three shorter tee boxes.
