Locust Hills is a mile west of Charles Town on Middleway Pike, about an hour from the northern DC suburbs and just a half hour from Winchester, Leesburg, Hagerstown, or Frederick.

The course is within a residential community and aside from the homes lining the fairways is enjoyable to play. There's an interesting variety with water in play on over half the holes and pot and conventional, sand bunkers distributed throughout the fairways and greens. The layout was designed by Ault Clark in the early 1990s and plays to 7,005 yards from the back tees, 73.5/130, course/slope ratings with three other tee boxes.
