The Marquette GC is located on the southwest side of Marquette off US 41 to the south with 36 holes.
The original course is the Heritage, a narrow and compact parkland layout over rolling terrain along fairways defined by old growth, hardwood trees with views of Lake Superior and a bracing back nine. There's minimal water hazards in play but sand bunkers defend most of the greens and the occasional fairway. The initial nine holes were designed by William Langford and Theodore Moreau in 1926 and expanded to 18 holes by David Gill in 1969. It's short at 6,260 yards, par 71, 70.0/124, course/slope ratings from the back tees with two shorter tees.
Greywalls lumbers over a rugged piece of land bounding through the forest and along rock walls with views of Lake Superior throughout. The course has varying degrees of dramatic elevation change along broad, sloping fairways bordered with heavy stands of hardwoods. The greens in some cases are elevated if on plateaus or situated in coves some seemingly dovetailed naturally into the land. There's four sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,828 yards, 73.0/144, course/slope ratings, designed by Mike DeVries who mentored under Tom Doak and Tom Fazio.
