Maxwelton Golf Club is on the north side of Syracuse Lake and Lake Wawasee about 20 minutes southeast of Goshen.

The golf course is a hilly, but walkable parkland layout with a variety of interesting and entertaining holes. It's generally straightforward along old growth, tree lined fairways with several ponds in play and sand traps mostly confined to guarding the small, oval greens. It's a William Langford design from the 1930s and plays to 6,490 yards from the tips, but 6,275 yards from the white tees, 69.9/125 course and slope ratings.
