Maxwelton Golf Club is on the north side of Syracuse Lake and Lake Wawasee about 20 minutes southeast of Goshen.

The golf course is a hilly but walkable parkland layout with various interesting and entertaining holes. It's generally straightforward along old-growth, tree-lined fairways with several ponds in play and sand traps mostly confined to guarding the small, oval greens. It's a William Langford design from the 1930s and plays to 6,490 yards from the tips but 6,275 yards from the white tees, 69.9/125 course, and slope ratings.
