Mineral Mound is operated by the state of Kentucky in the Mineral Mound State Park on the western side of the state at the intersection of I-69 and I-24 on Lake Barkley of the Cumberland River.

The golf course treks along the north side of the Lake over extremely hilly land and along tree lined fairways throughout. The front 9 is mostly through confining, forested fairways while the back opens up a bit along the Lake providing a host of scenic views over the area. It's a Hurdzan/Fry design which opened in 2003 and plays to 6,561 yards from the tips, 72.7/130, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
