Minnesota National is about a 1.5 hours west of Duluth in Mcgregor between Flowage and Rat Lakes surrounded by forestland. There's a full 18 hole, championship course along with the executive level, "Savanna" layout.

The Championship layout is carved through the woods along unique and isolated, fairways over level terrain. There's ponds, wetlands, and streams in play as well as doglegs and sand bumkers to test course management skills. It was designed by Joel Goldstrand in 2006 with multiple tees from 5,135 yards to 7,230 yards, the white tees play to 6,383 yards, 71.7/134 course and slope ratings.
