Mission Mountain is 15 miles south of Flathead Lake, off US 93 to the west. It is on a large tract of land with natural borders and homes along a few holes.

The golf course is a parkland layout with scattered trees along the fairways, sand bunkers primarily guarding the greens, and Mud Creek and a small lake on several holes. It is set in a scenic setting with views of the surrounding Mission Mountains. Gary Roger Baird designed it in 1988. It plays to 6,706 yards from the championship tees, 70.9/121 course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
