Oak Harbor is 15 minutes west of Port Clinton along a peninsula of the Portage River.

The layout is a straightforward parkland design over level land, with the River and several small streams and wetlands impacting play. There are a minimum of sand traps and small, oval greens. Four sets of tees, designed by Mel Hoover, range from 4,960 yards to 6,493 yards at the tips, with course/slope ratings of 71.7/121.
