OakWing is on the west side of Alexandria, just east of the airport on Vandenburg Drive, and is part of the Audubon Golf Trail of Louisiana.

The course is a challenging but fair parkland layout winding through the trees and over the hills and bayous of central Louisiana. There's a considerable amount of water hazards in play and a generous amount and variety of sand traps lining the fairways and securing the greens. It can play to 7,043 yards, 73.9/129, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees, designed by Jim Lipe.
