Okefenokee Golf Club is on the north side of Waycross within a residential development.

The golf course is along the banks of the Satilla River between Blackshear and Waycross in the Swamp Country of South Georgia. It's a scenic course and setting with a surprising amount of elevation change for the area. Each hole is separate and unique with the homes built back far enough so as not to affect play. There's 80 sand traps and seven holes with water hazards in play, and with the moss draped, oak and pine trees lining the fairways make for a long day if you're not down the middle. It's a Joe Lee design and a private club, but open for public play Tuesdays and Thursdays or whenever if you're from out of town. It's a challenging 6,784 yards from the tips, 72.8/134, course/slope ratings; from the white tees it's 6,424 yards, 71.2/128.
