Palisade is part of the Palisade State Park on the west side of the Manti-La-Sal National Forest, about 30-45 minutes north of Salina, and I-70 on the north side of Palisade Lake.
It's an entertaining layout with significant elevation change from 5,885 feet at the base to 6,115 at the top, providing views of the Sanpete and Gunnison Valleys and Palisade Lake throughout. The layout is generally straightforward but has several interesting holes, like #4, a 179-yard par-3 with an elevation drop of 70 feet, and a carryover of a canyon to the small green. The course has a traditional layout along tree-lined fairways, and it is little in the way of sand bunkers but has natural areas at the fairways' margins. The course was designed by Richard Bigler in the 1970s, and from the back tees, plays to 6,360 yards, 69.7/123, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
