The Payson Golf Course is on the west side of Payson on Country Club Drive and the only public golf course for miles in any direction.

The golf course is a parkland layout strolling along broad, tree-lined fairways in a mostly natural setting surrounded by the foothills of the Mogollon Rim. There's a stream that traverses the layout from east to west and comes in play frequently, with numerous doglegs and sand bunkers defending some of the fairways and the generous greens. There are two sets of tees with the tips playing to 5,894 yards, 66.0/111, course/slope ratings, par of 71, designed by Frank Hughes and Russell Zakariasen.
