The Payson Golf Course is on the west side of Payson on Country Club Drive and the only public golf course for miles in any direction.
The golf course is a parkland layout strolling along broad, tree lined fairways in a mostly natural setting surrounded by the foothills of the Mogollon Rim. There's a stream which traverses the layout from east to west and coming in play frequently, numerous doglegs, and sand bunkers defending some of the fairways and the generous greens. There's two sets of tees with the tips playing to 5,894 yards, 66.0/111, course/slope ratings, par of 71, designed by Frank Hughes and Russell Zakariasen.
