Peninsula Golf Resort is 30 miles southwest of Lexington and just east of Harrodsburg on the peninsula of Herrington Lake.

The layout is open and has a links-style design with small stands of trees at the fairway borders on slightly rolling terrain. There are just two water hazards in play, but 59 sand bunkers defend the fairways and the modest, level greens. It's a Pete Dye design from 1997 playing to 6,647 yards, 71.5/124, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tee boxes.
