Pohlcat is located on the east side of Mt. Pleasant, off Pickard Road, just east of US 127.

The course is a challenging yet playable layout that wanders along and over the Chippewa River and numerous ponds. It has a blend of links and parkland-style elements and a moderate amount of sand bunkers. Dan Pohl, a former PGA Tour player from Michigan, designed the course, which plays to 6,954 yards from the back tees, 74.2/140 course/slope ratings, and three shorter tees.
