Poipu is affiliated with the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, which is located on the southern extreme of Kauai, 100 feet above the Pacific.

The course is a resort-style layout journeying along roomy, tree-lined fairways well defended by 85 sand bunkers and five water features with the constant trade winds always in play. Ancient ruins and old stone walls were incorporated into the layout but are off-limits to play. The four finishing holes are over a cliff along Poipu Bay, which is a fabulous way to end the round. There are five sets of tees overall, and it's 7,123 yards from the tips, 73.9/134, course/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
