Pokegama is located on the southwest side of Grand Rapids on Pokegama Lake.

The golf course is a parkland style layout through broad, pine tree lined fairways with water in play on 6 holes and minimal sand bunkers mostly greenside. From the back tees, it's 6,426 yards, 70.1/131, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, originally a nine hole layout from 1926 that was rebuilt and 9 holes added by Joel Goldstrand.
