Pokegama is located on the southwest side of Grand Rapids on Pokegama Lake.

The golf course is a parkland-style layout through broad, pine tree-lined fairways, with water in play on six holes and minimal sand bunkers, mostly greenside. From the back tees, it's 6,426 yards, 70.1/131, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees. It was originally a nine-hole layout from 1926 that was rebuilt and nine holes added by Joel Goldstrand.
