Ponderosa is just west of the Pittsburgh International Airport in Hookstown at the intersection of PA 81/PA 168.

The course is a parkland style layout along tree lined, hilly and sloping fairways, and well bunkered along the landing zones and greens with water in play on multiple holes. It was designed by Ed Ault and is 6,635 yards from the tips, 71.2/125, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
