The Powell Golf Club is about 30 minutes northeast of Cody just outside Powell on WY 114.

There's two contrasting nines here ambling through a scenic setting in the Big Horn Basin surrounded by the Big Horn, Pryor, and Absaroka mountain ranges. The Desert nine is aptly named as it moves over open and ranging, land with the fairways bordered by desert terrain, rock outcroppings, Sagebrush, and Greasewood. It's more forgiving off the tee, and with the large greens and only a couple of sand bunkers is a bombers opportunity to score. The Pines nine is a traditional, shot maker's layout along narrow, tree lined fairways leading to small, well bunkered greens. Overall, it plays to 6,682 yards from the back tees, 70.4/122, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees
