Rancho Solano is midway between Sacramento and Oakland located off Interstate 80 in Fairfield partially within a residential development scattered among the golden foothills.

The golf course is a parkland layout with oak tree studded fairways over rolling terrain. There's multiple water hazards, numerous doglegs, and sand bunkers of various shapes and sizes guarding both the landing zones and greens. It was designed by Gary Roger Baird in 1990 and from the back tees is 6,688 yards, 71.6/132, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
