The Raton CC is somewhat of a misnomer as it's actually a municipal golf course owned and operated by the City of Raton. It's located on the west side of town off the I-25 exit at Clayton Rd just south of the Colorado border.

The layout is a scenic, 9 holer traversing the foothills and valleys of the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Ted Turner's Vermejo Park Ranch. It's a parkland layout with scattered trees and creeks lining the fairways leading to modest greens. It can play to 2,869 yards from the tips, and 6,116 yards for 18 holes, 69.4/111 course and slope ratings with a par of 71.
