The Raton CC is somewhat of a misnomer. It's actually a municipal golf course owned and operated by the City of Raton. It's located on the west side of town off the I-25 exit at Clayton Rd, just south of the Colorado border.

The layout is a scenic 9-holer traversing the foothills and valleys of the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Ted Turner's Vermejo Park Ranch. It's a parkland layout with scattered trees and creeks lining the fairways leading to modest greens. The course can play to 2,869 yards from the tips and 6,116 yards for 18 holes. It has a 69.4/111 course/slope rating and a par of 71.
