Rice Lake CC is between Mason City and Albert Lea off I-35 at exit 208 on the south side of the Rice Lake State Park.

The routing is mostly along natural corridors save for homes on a couple of holes and well landscaped with flower boxes and colorful shrubs along the fairways and surrounding the greens. It's a parkland layout along separate and unique fairways bordered by stands of mature hardwoods and evergreens with multiple water hazards and an array of sand bunkers. The greens are large and firm varying from subtle to wildly undulating surfaces. It's plays as long as 6,449 yards or as short as 4,896 yards with the white tees playing to 6,017 yards, 68.7/122, course/slope ratings and a par of 71, redesigned by Garrett Gill.
