Rio Colorado is midway between Galveston and Victoria on the south side of Bay City.

The layout saunters through low land on the east side of the Colorado River with water potentially in play on all but three holes. The front nine lulls you to sleep a bit as it's an open, prairie design through meadows, yet inspires with the scoring opportunities of 3 par-3s, 3 par 4s, and 3 par 5s. The back has the character and is more scenic along the bluffs of the Colorado and through narrow, oak and cottonwood fairways and wetlands with a generous amount of sand bunkering. It plays to 6,855 yards from the tips, the Blue tees are 6,303 yards, 70.4/118, course/slope ratings, designed by Gary Player in the early 1990s
