River Valley is in Carbondale about halfway between Aspen and Glenwood Springs.

The course is in a scenic setting along the Crystal River within a residential development. There's a variety of holes, some on what was once pasture land and others along the banks of the River with the balance through the sagebrush and pinion pine-lined fairways. It's challenging with a generous amount of sand bunkers in play and tall prairie grasses at the fairways' margins over a modest elevation change. It plays to 7,328 yards, 72.9/130, course/slope ratings off the back tees with three shorter tees, designed by Jay Morrish
