Sankaty is a private club on Nantucket but opens for public play off-season from October through May. It is easternmost golf course in Massachusetts and perched on the edge of Nantucket Island in Siasconset on the Atlantic.

The layout is one of the few classic links courses in America, and journeys over undulating dunesland with the Sankaty Head Lighthouse in the background on the front nine while the back nine turns inland. The routing is over a wide open, largely treeless landscape exposed to the constant wind off the Atlantic with hard and fast, fescue lined fairways and an abundance and variety of sand bunkers both at the landing zones and defending the green complexes. There's four sets of tees from 5,584 yards to 6,711 yards, the middle tees play to 6,350 yards with a 71.2 course rating and 127 slope, designed by Emerson Armstrong in 1923 with a restoration by Jim Urbina.
