Santa Maria Golf Course is a municipal golf course located southeast of downtown between I-10 and Airline just south of the Highland Road exit.

The golf course is a parkland layout that wanders around a residential development along oak trees-lined fairways with exterior holes bordering the Manchac Bayou. The course is roomy on 150 acres with 15 lakes, the Bayou in play, and sand bunkers bordering the fairways and the greens of varying shapes and sizes. There are four sets of tees from 5,153 yards to 6,969 yards; the blue tees play to 6,278 yards, 70.3/124, course/slope ratings, an original Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design from the 1980s with redesign work by Baxter Spann in 2006.
