Scotch Pines is 1 1/2 hours north of Boise off I-84 at Ontario, then on to Payette, wrapping around the municipal airport.

The routing has mostly tree-lined fairways over slightly rolling terrain, small to mid-sized greens, a moderate amount of sand bunkers, and one water hazard. Designed by William S. Massingill in the 1960s, it plays to a par 72, 6,605 yards, 70.1/116 ratings from the tips, with two shorter tees.
