Shelter Cover is a hidden gem in northern California's "Lost Coast", located 200 miles north of San Francisco between Eureka and Mendocino.

The course is just a 9 holer wrapping around the Shelter Cover Airport jutting out on a peninsula into the Pacific. Fair to say Pebble Beach it's not, as it's an executive layout with one par-5, four par-4s, and four par-3s. It's somewhat tree lined but open with views over the Pacific, flat and an easy walk. The clubhouse/pro shop consists of a lock box where you place greens fees in advance of the round. It plays to 2,380 yards, par of 33 with a 103 slope rating, designed by Larry Hughes.
