The Bearkat Golf Course is home to Sam Houston State PGA Golf Management Progran and the golf team, and is located off I-45 between exits 115 and 116 in Huntsville.

The layout journeys through a natural setting without homes or development bordering the holes save for the southeast border. The broad and mounded fairways are bordered by ponds, wetlands, and streams on eight holes with 45+ sand bunkers of varying shapes and sizes along the fairways and securing the greens. It can play to 5,416 yards with a course rating/slope of 69.8/121 from the forward tees to 6,943 yards, 72.6/130 off the back tees, designed by Tripp Davis.
