Soldiers Field is on the south side of downtown Rochester off Broadway, within view of the Mayo Clinic.
The course is a strategic layout winding along tree-lined corridors over level terrain. Numerous forced carries over the Zumbro River, which slices through the northern third from east to west, and well-bunked, modest greens. It's a par of 70 from the 5,769-yard tips, 64.2/114, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by Hugh Vincent Freehan in the 1920s.
