South Mountain is south of Salt Lake City in Draper off I-15 at Highland Drive.

The golf course is in a residential community in a scenic setting in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountain Range. The layout has a links feel to it with wide open fairways bordered by natural rough, scrub oaks, sage, and tall fescue type grasses. The golf course has an interesting mix of long and short holes, blind shots, and risk/reward opportunities where local knowledge is useful. It was designed by David Graham and Gary Panks in the late 1990s with four sets of tees from 5,165 yards to 7,080 yards, 73.4/130, course/slope ratings off the tips.
