Southern Hills GC is located off I-75, 20 miles south of Warner Robbins on the west side of the Ocmulgee River.

The layout is partially through a residential development over varying degrees of elevation change along tree-lined fairways with water hazards on half of the holes, in addition to a generous amount of sand. There's a good mix of challenging risk/reward options, the par-3s range from short to long, a couple of the par-5s are reachable in two, and several of the par-4s may yield scoring opportunities. There are four sets of tees, the tips play to 6,741 yards, 72.7/131, course/slope ratings, designed by Mike Young.
