Southern Hills is on the south side of Brooksville on US 41 about 45 minutes north of Tampa and is available through a stay and play program.

The course has a northern feel to it along oak and elm tree lined, hilly fairways with the landing zones ample off the tee but the greens well guarded by sand bunkers. The holes march through hills and valleys framed by pampas grasses, numerous water hazards, conventional and pot bunkers, and occasionally through heavily wooded areas. From the blue tees it plays to 6,455 yards, 71.3/128, course/slope ratings with two longer and two shorter tees, designed by Pete Dye.
