Square Butte Creek is about 30 minutes north of Bismarck on the southeast side of Center.

The golf course is a quirky, nine holer starting with #1, a short par 3 in the front yard of the clubhouse downhill 100 feet from tee to green. There's challenge to the layout with water in play on two holes along Square Butte Creek and scattered trees along the fairways leading to modest, elevated, oval greens.
