St. James Bay is south of Tallahassee near Apalachicola on the Gulf of Mexico in a real estate, resort development.

The golf course is a challenging layout with narrow landing areas where course management and club selection are at a premium. It's an Audubon International Designated Sanctuary through natural mitigation areas with lakes and hazards on most of the holes and well bunkered throughout. It was designed by Robert Walker in 2003 and plays to 6,730 from the back tees, 72.9/142, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
