St. Johnsbury is about three miles off I-91 at Lyndonville Exit 23 in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, near the New Hampshire border.
The golf course is a classic layout with significant elevation change along narrow tree-lined fairways. It uses moderate sand bunkering, little in the way of water hazards, and small to mid-sized greens. The course is 6,358 yards, 71.8/131, course/slope ratings from the Blue tees with three shorter tees. It was originally designed in the early 1920s by the Scottish winner of two British Opens, Willie Park Jr, who was responsible for the initial nine, with the second nine added in 1992 by Geoffrey Cornish.
