Stamford Golf Club is about an hour southwest of Albany on the north side of Stamford in the northern Catskills.

The golf course is a classic parkland design from the late 1800s in a scenic mountain setting. There's OB on over half the hole; the par 3s are both mid-length and super long, the par 5s are potentially reachable in two, and the par 4s are a mix of long and short holes. It plays to 6,285 yards from the blue tees, 69.7/113, course/slope ratings for a par of 70 with three shorter tees.
