Sugar Hills is the only 18-hole layout between Hays and Denver and is located just off I-70 at the Goodland exit to the north and west.

The golf course has a long history, starting as a 9-hole layout in the 1920s with sand greens and buffalo grass fairways. It's matured into a generally straightforward layout over slightly rolling topography along evergreen lined fairways with a few creeks crossing the fairways and a pond on a par 3. The course isn't long at 6,369 yards from the tips, par 71, 69.8/117, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
