Sun Valley has 45 holes of golf with two 18 hole championship courses and a 9 hole layout.

The Resort Trail Creek Course is a mountain style layout over hilly and sloping fairways alongside Trail Creek and multiple ponds/wetlands. The layout traverses fairways lined by trees with frequent doglegs and a myriad of sand bunkers guarding the fairways and greens. It was originally designed by William Bell in 1938 with Robert Trent Jones, Jr re-designing it in 1980 to its present yardage of 6,968 yards, 72.8/139, course/slope ratings from the rear tees with three shorter tees.

The Elkhorn is a challenging layout providing impressive elevation changes with 100+ sand bunkers, water in play on most every hole, and generous, contoured and undulating greens. It will play to a long 7,214 yards, 73.4/136, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees. The design was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones Sr. on the front and Robert Trent Jones, Jr, the back with redesign work by Dick Phelps.

The nine hole White Clouds tiptoes along the ridge line above the resort course with views of the Wood River Valley including Bald Mountain, Dollar Mountain, the Pioneer Mountains, Angel's Perch, and Devil's Bedstead. The layout has a variety of blind shots, odd lies, an abundance of sand bunkers and numerous risk/reward opportunities. It plays to 3,605 yards from the tips, 37.5/145, course/slope ratings, designed by Don Knotts.
