The Sweetwater Country Club is just west of Barnwell, bordering the Salkehatchie River to the west.

The golf course is carved through a pine and oak forest within a residential development. It's a tale of two nines: a Low-Country front side through wetlands and ponds, while the back side gains elevation as it winds along tree-lined fairways, both with a generous amount of sand bunkers in play. It will play to a short 6,248 yards, 70.8/118 course/slope ratings off the back tes with three shorter tees, designed by Russell Breeden.
