There's two 18 hole golf courses affiliated with The Breakers, The Ocean Course located at the hotel on Palm Beach and the Rees Jones Course which is about 10 miles west of the hotel in Palm Beach County.
The Rees Jones layout is an updated design and typical of Florida layouts as it winds through a residential development with a liberal amount of sand and water hazards in play and somewhat challenging with a number of forced carries depending on the tee box chosen. From the back tees it's 7,104 yards, 74.9/140, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees. It was originally designed by Willard Byrd with redesign work by Ken Green, and then a renovation by Rees Jones in 2004.
The Ocean Course is set in the front yard of the Breakers Hotel and a traditional, parkland layout along broad, native tree lined fairways with the wind off the Atlantic always a factor. There's water in play on 9 holes and sand traps along the fairways and securing the modest, raised greens. It's a short layout of 6,167 yards from the back tees, 68.1/127, course/slope ratings and a par of 70. It was built in 1896 and is Florida's oldest 18 hole course originally designed by Alex Findlay with touches by Donald Ross and redesigned by Brian Silva in 2000.
