The Dunes at Maui Lani is just south of Kahului on the Kuihelani Highway partially bordering a residential community.

The layout is of a minimalist design over the existing dune complexes and lay of the land. It's similar to the classic natural links courses of the British Isles with 9 holes out and nine holes back in, but contrary to links design the fairways are bordered by native trees and multiple water features. It was designed by Robin Nelson and from the back tees is 6,841 yards, 74.1/141, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
